Gauthier graduated from Marquette University ‘13 with a degree in criminology, law studies and sociology. He continued onto Washington University School of Law in St. Louis ‘17 where he completed his jurismaster. Gauthier is an activist and advocate for the transgender community; holding a multitude of awards and recognitions throughout the years.

At the inaugural ceremony, Gauthier was sworn in under the direction of Chief Pileggi of the Wisconsin Statefair Park Police Department. This historic day has marked Gauthier as the first openly known transgender person to serve in Wisconsin law enforcement.

Gauthier states “Working at the [Wisconsin] Statefair has become an annual incentive that I look forward to”. Gauthier has been employed by WSFP Public Safety since 2016 where he moved up in ranks, where he leaves his role as a public safety Lieutenant. Gauthier’s colleagues acknowledge his dedication, leadership and hard work throughout the years.

The statistics (or lack of) on LGBTQ and Black officers is no surprise to me. However, I accept the challenges that are before me and I will strive to create a positive impact on the community. I am proud of who I am and what I represent. Today is the day that everything changes…I will be the change we want to see!” says Gauthier.

Gauthier hopes that in his new role, he can help bridge the gap between law enforcement and his communities at large.

Gauthier was endorsed by his wife, daughters, father, colleagues, honorable state officials, and pastor.
